Mark Bittman pointed out this article as the reason why he grinds his own meat. Yes, it's more expensive to buy a steak and grind it yourself. But I think that's what I'm going to do from now on too (well, have the butcher grind it for me)!

I hardly ever buy those frozen patties - but I never will! Interesting that the patties were bought from Wal-marde. You buy low quality, you get low quality...
