The clichéd "so many books, so little time"

In her reading memoir, "So Many Books, So Little Time," Sara Nelson calls deciding to allow yourself to stop reading a book "a rite of passage in a reader's life." It is, she says, "the moment at which you can look at yourself and announce: Today I am an adult. I can make my own decisions."

I only recently gave myself permission to not finish a book. Precisely because there are so many other books I want to read, I wouldn't want to "block" myself from reading other books just because I was slogging away at an uninteresting read.
