From his final, open letter to all Canadians:
"My friends, love is better than anger. Hope is better than fear. Optimism is better than despair. So let us be loving, hopeful and optimistic. And we'll change the world."
He stayed a true, caring politician to the end, making sure his vision was made clear to the party members who would carry on without him.
I wonder what the NDP without Jack will look like, though...
